  • I, like, love this podcast

I really enjoy hearing about books straight from the source! Plus the whole series about books to movies and the pluses/minuses of film adapation is deeply on point. Love, love, love.

  • Entertaining book-to-film discussion

It’s refreshing to hear booksellers have a thoughtful debate on the merits of film adaptation. These guys are movie-lovers for sure, but obviously appreciate the printed word.

One question, eight ‘like’s’. How many in the whole podcast? Invest in an editing program if you can’t speak without this annoying verbal tic.

  • Not surprised it’s top notch!

Just like the store…. I lived in LA for years and I miss the store. These podcasts remind me of nights under the tree at Skylight. Keep it going.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

SKYLIT: Hannah Lillith Assadi, PARADISO 17
Q: How did you approach writing this story while also dealing with personal loss, and how did that shape the book's structure?
The writing emerged from a mix of grief, memory, and collaboration with the page; I began with a scene on my father's deathbed and gradually wove in memories and imagination to create a life-spanning narrative that moves through time while maintaining a coherent emotional throughline.
SKYLIT: Wes Locher, WHO IS "WEIRD AL" YANKOVIC?
Q: So that answers what was going to be my second question was, did you pitch Weird Al or did they give you Weird Al?
They offered it up, and I was thrilled because it's a subject I've loved since childhood, which made the project very appealing and motivating.
SKYLIT: Stuart Moore, DOCTOR STRANGE: A DECADE OF DARK MAGIC (MARVEL AGE OF COMICS)
Q: What should we know about the complexities of Dormammu?
He's a classic fascist ruler who provides safety to his people but is still a threat to Earth.
SKYLIT: Stuart Moore, DOCTOR STRANGE: A DECADE OF DARK MAGIC (MARVEL AGE OF COMICS)
Q: What do you think about the Development of the character?
Doctor Strange started with an arrogant wealthy surgeon who later learns the mystic arts.
SKYLIT: Stuart Moore, DOCTOR STRANGE: A DECADE OF DARK MAGIC (MARVEL AGE OF COMICS)
Q: What made you decide to zero in on Doctor Strange?
I jumped at the chance because you never get a chance to do this kind of writing, especially not for money.
