  • Fargin bastages

I’ve been a longtime listener of SIOL since the beginning and adore the show religiously, but for the love of god guys can we stop with the two minute clip episodes everyday.

  • Great but skip ahead

Great discussions on KISS, album reviews, pop culture and more. However, pretty much skip the first half hour of them blowing themselves every episode and schilling their 16 levels of patreon. Once they actually get to the podcast’s topic, all good.

  • Way too many short episodes

Use to enjoy the show but got tired of being flooded with 2-3 minute episodes that are half commercials

Episode 393 "Brian Tichy II"
Q: How do you balance legacy expectations with new material in your live performances?
He describes pacing the set, distributing lead vocals among band members, and choosing songs that keep energy high while allowing for deep cuts when the moment fits.
Episode 393 "Brian Tichy II"
Q: What inspired Led By Vultures and how did you approach the recording process?
Brian explains he started the project as a solo effort, recording everything himself in a home studio, then brought in friends for specific parts to achieve a band-like dynamic while keeping the control and vibe intact.
Episode 388 "Ultimate Classic Rock - "The Four Most Disappointing KISS Albums" With David LaGreca!"
Q: What makes a KISS album disappointing rather than just not a favorite?
Disappointing can mean the album didn't meet fans' expectations for a band's sound and energy at a certain moment, even if some songs are strong; it's about emotional resonance and what the era promised versus what was delivered.
Episode 382 "Brian Slagel"
Q: Did you have a favorite KISS member growing up and did it change over time?
Slagel talks about Gene Simmons as a childhood idol and later growing appreciation for Ace Frehley as a guitarist, with all four original members seen as influential in different ways.
Episode 376 "Robert V. Conte II"
Q: Can you summarize your role as the Kiss catalog consultant and how it started?
I started by documenting and reporting on changes in Kiss pressings and packaging, which led to my involvement with remastering and re-packaging efforts, ultimately becoming the Kiss catalog consultant to help ensure historically accurate releases and proper marketing considerations.
