The positive: I love the show. The negative: please, for the love of god, listen to some of the episodes from this year (2026) and _do something_ about the awful audio glitches cutting across both the theme music and some of the episode. Example: the sponsored magic art episode. The first couple minutes (including the theme music) literally hurt to listen to. I know you can do better than this, so I’m really confused by this sudden quality degradation
I listen to this podcast at Work. I’d like to say the hours just fly by. But, they don’t. What they actually do is merge into one amorphous hour. I put my headphones in at the start of the day and take them out at the end. The time in between a meaningless sea of manual labour and nutter-butters cardboard.
My favorite type of podcast. Just some lovely folks remembering guys (cards).
I enjoy anytime Wheeler shows up on Commander content, but his Copper Tablet triggers on Spike Feeders had me cracking up. HERE HE IS, talking about the very “Death By 1000 Cuts deck, so we found the origin of his villain arc. Thanks for the fun listening.
thanks for having me, it’s great to be here

Two longtime MTG enthusiasts analyze the game's history through the Commander lens, often focusing on classic sets, iconic cards, and the evolving design choices that shaped casual and EDH play. Across episodes they blend nostalgia, deep card-knowledge, and personal anecdotes from local game stores, exploring how mechanics, archetypes, and reprint decisions influenced formats from Commander to Modern. A recurring charm is the friendly, banter-heavy back-and-forth between two hosts who aren't afraid to share strong opinions, celebrate favorite cards, and celebrate the culture around MTG collecting and play.
Notable strengths include a deep, set-by-set appreciation for design history, regular insights into Commander-centric strategy, and a s... more
