一、思想問題：我是否認為有些罪惡應該得不到神的赦免及原諒？神的話又怎麼說呢？

3:10 於是 神察看他們的行為，見他們離開惡道，他就後悔，不把所說的災禍降與他們了。
這一章充份表達出神對人濃濃的愛，神「後悔」不降災並非神智慧不夠、沒有想清楚才臨時改變心意，乃是神定下審判的法則――不悔改，神必然刑罰。神的計畫不是滅絕尼尼微城，而是盼望尼尼微人離開罪惡轉向神，重新領受神賜下悔改的機會與憐憫。

一、思想問題：過去在危難時我是否曾經向神許願？我是否仍然正在履行著與神之間的約定？
二、鑰節：
2:9 但我必用感謝的聲音獻祭與你。我所許的願，我必償還。救恩出於耶和華。
此時的禱告是約拿在魚腹中的禱告，在生死瞬間、危機當頭，約拿發現自己的有限，看見生命需要救恩，而救恩唯獨只在神裡面，因此在神面前重新悔改，向神感恩，重新與神立約，遵行神的話。在約拿真心悔改的當下，魚腹成為聖殿，成為遇見神重新得力之處！

一、思想問題：我的信仰與我的生活是一致的還是脫節的？

1:9 他說：「我是希伯來人。我敬畏耶和華－那創造滄海旱地之天上的 神。」
約拿以身為希伯來人、神的選民為榮為傲；他也以認識耶和華為誇口，對比其他水手各自呼求自己的偶像神明完全無用，信靠創造天地的神顯得何等正確與「高人一等」！他甚至當眾宣告，我「敬畏」神！簡短有力的一句話，說出神的大能、屬性及揀選，真不愧為神的先知。
然而諷刺的是，先知的作為卻是躲避耶和華，拒絕神的差遣，可見理性信仰與實際生活的巨大差異。

1:15 耶和華降罰的日子臨近萬國。你怎樣行，他也必照樣向你行；你的報應必歸到你頭上。
在猶大人經歷巴比倫進攻，遭逢亡國之痛時，兄弟之邦以東趁火打劫。就在最哀痛之時，神所差遣的先知，要人把眼光轉向神，要看見神將要進行公義的刑罰與審判。
今日猶大受審判是因著得罪神，神在祂的子民身上施行審判；而神的審判也要臨到萬國萬民，以東如何攻擊猶大，他們也將要承受相同的審判，公義的報應必然臨到。
