这座犹太教堂建于1920年，原名叫拉希尔会堂，由于坐落于上海的西摩路（陕西北路原名），俗称西摩会堂。它是当时在上海的犹太富商沙逊家族第三代大班亚可布•沙逊为纪念其亡妻专门捐款建造的。它是目前上海现存时间最早、远东地区规模最大的犹太教会堂。建筑面积为2885平方米，园地面积3555平方米。现在这里是上海市高等教育学会，一般人无法进去参观。 more
建于20世纪初，传统上海石库门形式，天井式三合院，木结构坡面屋，山墙有西式特征。自在，有安闲舒适、身心舒畅之意。发用“自在”作为弄堂的名字，标示了投资者以悠闲不拘的生活为依归。
陕西北路525号南阳公寓原名南洋公寓，建于1933年，砖混结构，四层。由近现代著名华侨实业家简照南、简玉阶兄弟创设的南洋兄弟烟草公司出资建造。 more
建于1913年，建筑为西式花园别墅，砖混结构四层。自由平面，空间丰富。清水砖墙，各立面差异明显，不讲究对称，鱼鳞瓦铺坡屋面。房主原为犹太人，一二楼从事黄金美钞买卖，三四楼居住活动，一家人在此过着舒适富裕的生活，是20世纪众多犹太家庭中上海的一个代表。
陕西北路470弄及438—464号的一片洋房被称为“太平花园”，花园里弄,建于1928年。20世纪初由中国近代史上同为外交家、法学家的伍廷芳、伍朝枢父子所建。房屋为联体式别墅，富有浓郁的欧罗巴风情。这里曾是南欧人在上海的一个集居点，弄内居民以侨民居多。早期入住者大都是中产之家，如医生、工程师、洋行经理等。抗战开始，中国住户增多。 more
