Great podcast - except when Barro opens his idiot mouth.
Wondering if someone can use use AI (yes, it would be worth ruining the world) to cut Barro’s voice and just run Ken’s insightful and amusing comments. Barro adds nothing and frequently gets in the way. Interrupts unnecessarily and “clarifies” just to hear his own voice.
i appreciate ken’s analysis, but **josh is a terrible moderator/host**, and it’s unfortunate because he leads the discussions. if ken found another partner, likely 5 stars, but josh is an albatross around his neck. it’s maddening. ken, please fly be free of this less than mediocre man. he is a millstone holding you down.
In the 50+ years of my life, there has been little to no indication that I’ve ever had an interest in legal affairs, legal theory or in-the-weeds legal analysis. Yet somehow, of the 300+ podcasts I have subscribed to in the last 15 years, this is the one I rearrange my day around when a new episode drops. I started listening to this one when Ken stopped posting on Popehat. Very entertaining and interesting show.
I wish there was something any of us could do about the problems they discuss on the show though
The PopeHat, Ken White, is superb. Listen to The PopeHat and you will learn about the law and the legal system. Josh Barro is pundit manure. Barrow is the Megan McArdle of John P Normansons. Do not buy a subscription. Refuse to give Barro a ruble. Or a shekel. Never reward Barro. Were it not for his parents, that guy would be moving boxes at an Amazon warehouse.

A sharp, legally informed take on current events, focusing on civil and criminal cases, government power, and media coverage. The show frequently explores how courts handle defamation, press rights, and executive action, often weaving in broader implications for policy and society.
