  • 😁. Just 😁. ‘Nuff said!

One of the most enjoyable podcasts I’ve listened to! Informative but also fun and silly, and Steven’s laid-back style makes you feel like you’re just hanging out with a friend, chatting about cool stuff, and not wanting it to end! It makes me glad I only just discovered this, since it means I have quite a while before I’m all caught up and have to wait impatiently for the next episode! 😁

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Park Experts 198 - Lisa Wallen (Video Games)
Q: What's the most memorable moment you've had while streaming a game?
Beating a tough Dark Souls boss after hours of attempts, with the community cheering like a World Series win, created a powerful sense of shared achievement and memory that users still recall.
Park Experts 198 - Lisa Wallen (Video Games)
Q: What have you learned about audience expectations when you stream versus perform live?
Streaming rewards consistency and honesty; people come for the vibe and the community, not just the game. It's about balancing the identity you've built online with live performances, and accepting that different audiences will respond to different aspects of your work.
Park Experts 198 - Lisa Wallen (Video Games)
Q: How did you get into stand-up and decide to merge it with gaming content?
I started stand-up as a hobby because I was funny and wanted a mic, then realized streaming and gaming could be another outlet to express myself, build an audience, and slowly turn that into a career, especially as I learned to be authentic and consistent rather than chasing traditional routes.
Park Experts 194 - Kira Metcalf (Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit)
Q: Is there a song from the movies or books that you really connect with, and how does it influence your own work?
Kira describes how the musicality and lyricism of Tolkien's world and scenes—especially Pippin's moment with Denethor—resonate with her approach to lyric writing and mood in her own music, and she shares how some of those scenes inspired her shower-recorded versions and creative process.
Park Experts 186 - Alise Fox (Mathematician/Fish Scientist)
Q: What advice do you have for people pursuing science as a career?
Alise emphasizes that science is huge and diverse, encouraging newcomers to trust that they belong in STEM and to embrace their unique learning styles.
