So who records during the middle of an event with no real topic in sight? We do that's who! Kind of a meandering wandering thru GW and giving back to the community. The sound quality is suspect in some parts as well.. we were in the middle of a tourn... more
Time to take a look back at 2013. What did we accomplish, where did we fall, what do we have upcoming for 2014?
Squimpas, Escalation, and Fortifications Oh My!
First up Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate the US version of the holiday. We start off with games played and Steve takes over the segment with his recounting of an Apoc game.
We dive in to a two part main show. Codex Suppliments and our tho... more
With the guys not having the time to record the past two weeks Mark steps in to talk a little about the best international wargames tournament in the midwest, Adepticon.
Ken, Jeff, and Steve have a low key episode this time around. So sit back and listen to the mellow voices of the founding talk sweet 40k.
The Guys deal with the wrap up for the Michigan GT. Interviews with Chris Vinton, and Brandon Vallee.
Be sure to check out the Tablewar Mini Kickstarter
We have delayed the Michigan GT coverage by an episode. So to make sure you have some content to listen to Mark borrows a segment from his Through the Breach podcast to tell you all about the trading site Bartertown.
I want to thank you guys personally for creating a podcast that isn't explicit that is informative and precise. I await each release with enthusiasm. The only complaint I would have is the extensive use of advertising during the podcast. I understand you have to pay the bills but toning it down would improve the experience immensely. Thanks again guys for your awesome work and taking time to talk to us all.
I'm liking the pre-show focus rotation and the overall dynamic.
Doing a very good job with the interviews.
Might want to explain some of the acronyms and 40K shorthand - "ETC", "ATC", "Gladiator". Once per episode would do it and it would only take a couple seconds.
The missed opportunity was at no point during the Bartertown episode did anyone ask "WHO RUN BARTERTOWN?!"
Its ok to get some gamer burnout. As a father, husband, and professor I to have to find time to balance my gamer time. I may have played a total of 3 games in the past year of 6th but thats ok. I still enjoy that time with my friends and find it funny abit to hear my students talking about their gaming time in the classroom even if they think I cant hear them. Great work.
A really excellent podcast focusing on Warhammer 40,000, but with many insights into other aspects of miniatures gaming. The hosts (Ken, Mark and Steve) have created a very high quality podcast, with great audio and interesting topics. They gel very well as presenters and come across as very likeable people. Perhaps less extrovert than some other (equally great) 40K podcasts, they come at the hobby with long term experience and thoughtfulness. The podcast episodes on creating theme in game a... more
I just found this podcast. I had seen it before, but the description made it seen like a regional specific tournament type thing. I'm glad I gave it a listen. I really like the hobby/painting aspects. Keep up the good work
I've listened to a few 40K podcasts and this one is my favorite. These guys have just the right mix of modeling ideas and strategy, with a welcome healthy dose of cynicism concerning our favorite money guzzling hobby company. A great listen.
Its the only thing i like to listen to while i am painting or modelling my minis! You guys are awesome and i just wanted to thank you for taking the time to do this for all the fans!
Thanks again for the amazing work you do!
Brock-
Have been enjoying this show. It is refreshing to hear a new podcast with it's own take on 40k. I would recommend giving these guys a listen
Second Founding is quickly becoming my favourite 40k podcast. The hosts are informative and friendly, the episodes are of good length, and the show covers a wide variety of topics. Episode 11 on terrain was a welcome change from the tournament and gaming focus that most other podcasts have.
Keep up the great work guys! I've been listening for a couple of months, and the podcasts get better every week. Cheers!
I review 40K Podcasts for BoLS, and I have to say that I have been quite impressed with the guy's show so far. The content is never dull, they have enguaging topics, a great cast, sound quality is top of the line, and they have a lot of fun on the show. I highly recommend this one to everyone one!
Here we have one of the best podcasts for the casual 40k gamer. It has everything you want from tactical discussions to terrain making and even discusses tournament play within the Ohio local area.
Despite not living anywhere near Ohio or the US i still tune into this one regularly and look forward to each episode. Every time there is a new topic to discuss. I would reccommend episode 7 highly. Its something every wargamer needs to think about.
Take the time to listen. Well worth it.
Warmaster Horus would be proud of these chaps. They bring a certain gravitas to the 40k podcasting scene. Long live the Emperor, and burn all the heretics! These guys will make you want to play the game and stomp on your friends miniatures when you're done beating them! Give it a listen, or I'll let loose some deamons to hunt you down and cast you into the abyss!

For this relatively new podcast there are certainly things to be improved on, pace being slow being the biggest one. How ever that being said there is plenty of good information to find while listening. An insightful and informative podcast, it answered quite a few questions I had asked over time about 40k myself. It even provide a few laughs here and there. The show provides the feeling you are sitting around your gaming table with some friends and just discussing the game you know and love.

Definitely worth a listen, and I sure don't listen to a whole lot of podcasts!
