Kev and Randy take to the mics once a week to talk about a song from the catalogue of the enigmatic, brilliant, and sometimes flawed rock legends Queen. Each week a song will be chosen at random so that the boys won't know what track they'll be reviewing. Kev comes into the podcast as a Queen afficionado, while Randy is a more casual fan, but has a huge wealth of knowledge about recording, perform... more

  • More filler less killer

I enjoy listening to the podcast, in the absence of the original Queen Pod but recently find myself skipping entire sections. Chrissy ‘The Waters of Love’ Lake desperate attempts to sell an unpublished book and has the most irritating voice is now an instant skip and her reading out messages from Discord doesn’t add anything.

Despite this, there’s still lots to love about the podcast and the guys clearly value the community.

  • Fun It!

A fun weekly jaunt through Queen's discography and they also do bonus content now and then even though no one ever asked for it! So nice.

  • Good but …

… who is the guy who speaks a hundred words a second ? Too fast, man ! Do you drink 10 Red Bull before pressing “Record”?

Ill persevere because you sound like a nice bunch and I love Queen, but Im having to listen with the audio on a slower speed 😲

Give him some camomile tea !

  • Entertaining Show for Queen Fans!

Wonderfully entertaining show! These two have a great rapport with each other and with the Queen fan base as a whole. Each episode is a conversation between two good friends, and knowledgable Queen fans, with plenty of good-hearted ribbing and banter. Pop open a beer and saddle up for some Queen fun!

  • Love this podcast!

I really enjoy these two guys, Kevin and Randy, love the banter between them, and love the witty remarks. I love the format too, a random song picked each week and discussed throughly in depth. I learn a lot about how a song is constructed and about music in general. I like the beginning too, where they discuss listener comments from the previous weeks song selection. My only critique is I could use less swearing as I feel it does not add anything to the discussion, but that’s just my person... more

Q: Can nostalgia ever be separated from the music that carries it?
Yes, nostalgia can be separated from music, but it often requires someone with no prior connection to the song to provide that perspective.
Flick of the Wrist
Q: What do you think is going to land for this song?
It's going to come back overwhelmingly positive, I think.
Delta Lady
Q: For you, is this one of the champions or does it bite the dust?
Well, you know what? This is no profit song. I realize I'm probably going to get a little bit of hate for that, but I just thought I'd throw it in there. Let's keep things interesting.

Randy playfully picks 'Running Down a Dream' by Tom Petty, 'Waterloo Sunset' by The Kinks, and concludes with 'Black Dog' by Led Zeppelin.
