I often revisit certain Black Sabbath albums on this excellent podcast. I especially enjoyed Ry’s overview of the Black Sabbath’s mid 80’s wilderness years. I first got into Black Sabbath when Ronnie James Dio was the lead singer following his impressive tenure with Ritchie Blackmore in Rainbow. This guy is a natural podcaster. He does it by himself, discusses each song from the album, and peppers the whole thing with lots of great stories about the band. I never really followed the band after Dio, but I’m thoroughly enjoying the episodes that chronicle the lesser known albums from the 80’s and 90’s. He also has a guitar guy that plays parts of the songs, and he plays a little bass, which gives a nice reference point to what he is talking about. I highly recommend.
