  • You really dumped on Te Pati Māori

This episode on the troubles within TPM was shallow and didn't interview any of the politicians involved. Nor was there any analysis of criticism of the party's perceived failures. It looked quite racist.

  • Rubbish interview.

What a shockingly appalling episode. I thought this was going to be god journalism. No push back against the republican strategist. Just permission to spout further lies. Where was the question actually asking what specific policies Trump is proposing as opposed to the hyperbole and none sense rhetoric he spouts. Sad that you showed such a lack of journalism here.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Domestic abuse, with pets as a weapon
Q: How does technology enable abuse in these situations, and what can be done to mitigate risk?
Common surveillance tech like trackers, cat cameras, and smart devices can be repurposed to monitor or locate victims; mitigation includes education for consumers, safer device designs, and policies limiting misuse, alongside legal protections for victims and pets.
Domestic abuse, with pets as a weapon
Q: What are the concerns about criminalizing coercive control when it involves animals, and how might frontline responders respond?
Experts worry that adding a coercive-control-based animal-abuse crime could be ineffective or harmful if police and courts lack training to recognize coercive dynamics; there is concern about mislabeling protective actions as wrongdoing and the need for a broader approach within existing Family Violence Act frameworks.
Domestic abuse, with pets as a weapon
Q: How will protection orders change to automatically cover pets, and what is the potential impact on victims?
Protection orders will extend to automatically include pets, reducing fear that seeking protection would separate humans from their animals and potentially making it easier for victims to leave abusive situations with their pets.
Disability bill sparks backlash
Q: What is the timeline and process for this bill, and why are submitters concerned?
Submitters are concerned about the speed of the process, with a three-week window for submissions, limited hearing locations, and the overall accessibility of consultations for people nationwide.
Disability bill sparks backlash
Q: So what exactly is the worry? Why are people up in arms about this bill?
The worry centers on the potential for the government to shift more responsibility to families, reduce protections, and halt ongoing court cases that recognized family carers as employees, which could undermine previously established rights and funding structures.
