  • You really dumped on Te Pati Māori

This episode on the troubles within TPM was shallow and didn't interview any of the politicians involved. Nor was there any analysis of criticism of the party's perceived failures. It looked quite racist.

  • Rubbish interview.

What a shockingly appalling episode. I thought this was going to be god journalism. No push back against the republican strategist. Just permission to spout further lies. Where was the question actually asking what specific policies Trump is proposing as opposed to the hyperbole and none sense rhetoric he spouts. Sad that you showed such a lack of journalism here.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Sri Lanka - where someone else's war is hitting hard
Q: What does it mean for people like you to be caught up in this fuel crisis and heading towards what you think is an economic crisis?
It means total collapse; the main purpose is to survive the crisis, and daily life is pulled down by no petrol, no gas, and electricity shortages, forcing families to struggle with basic necessities.
Pauline Hanson's rise from political outcast to power player
Q: So realistically, big question here, could she actually be the Prime Minister of Australia?
The hosts discuss that it used to be unlikely, but given the polling surge and Hanson's persistent visibility, she could become a real contender, potentially switching to a lower house seat or leveraging Senate power if circumstances align.
The new male beauty crisis capturing our kids
Q: What responsibility do social media sites have over the looks maxing content that reaches young audiences?
The guest and host discuss the large responsibility of tech platforms to regulate harmful content, while also advising parents to actively manage children's feeds and use tools to reset algorithms.
The 'toothless' law keeping us in the dark
Q: Why did you consider prosecuting Te Whatu Ora under the OIA, and what would that have entailed?
Because non-compliance had gone on long enough, and without consequences there's little incentive for agencies to change behavior; a prosecution would have required clarification of legal routes, likely through a contempt or a formal declaration, and could have set a precedent for enforceable penalties.
Attack on defence spending causes offense
Q: What drives the push to 3.5% of GDP, and is it realistic for New Zealand?
The guest speakers explain that 3.5% is presented as a global norm by US officials, but NZ leaders argue it is impractical given NZ's size, regional priorities, and domestic constraints; the discussion centers on aligning defence spend with actual threats and capability needs rather than chasing a single number.
