Season 12 premiered October 20, 2024 – a nonfictional account of The Martian Revolution of 2247. Mike Duncan is taking everything he's learned from 12 seasons of historical revolutions - the repeating arcs, characters, ideas, events, and patterns which all revolutions seem to follow - and created a fictional history of the Martian Revolution of 2247. I very much enjoyed the History of Rome podcast which I finished this spring. It took the whole season to listen to over a millennium of information. While relieved to be done, I missed Mike Duncan's wit and information. Recently began this podcast after a reprieve of listening to other podcasts.
It is equally knowledgeable and entertaining (a great combination). In some ways, I enjoy more because you can take a respite between revolutions and listen to the podcast in a more fragmented manner.... more
I may disagree with his handling of the French Revolution (get out of the weeds Mike!!) but man, Mike Duncan always delivers something well researched and well reasoned and of the quality I would expect to see published in any academic press.
No nonsense speculation (well...except the Mars thing but that's for fun) and no singular field of history to focus on (everything isn't about war? whaaaat?) bless Mike and may he enjoy the fruits of his hard labor
LOVE this podcast on various revolutions throughout history!!! Mike is a wonderful storyteller
Very informative. If you want to know everything about any specific revolution. Host is easy to listen to. Seems very accurate...some details so obscure that you'd have to be as knowledgeable as Rhodes scholar to tell.
The Mars shit is beyond dumb. Did you run out of topics? Just making shit up now?
