This episode and series of this Podcast have been very helpful, informative and impact to me. I think Dave and Tina's example of how maybe trying something different, like the ITC Approach could help. I like how there is not just one way to do something. I like having the option to see what is working and having another chance to try something different or new without all hope being lost. Thank you for that. I am grateful to the Center For Motivation and Change and Tina and Dave too!!

After listening to the first episode of Rethinking Rock Bottom, I immediately thought of several friends and family members that could benefit from the podcast. I will be sharing!
Rock Bottom is a concept where we turn our backs on, and stop supporting a person with addiction; leaving them to fend for themselves. Families get this advice all the time; and are blamed and accused of enabling and getting in the way of recovery. There never was any evidence supporting this approach; and too often bottom means death. You don't have to give up on your loved one; this episode will tell you another approach proven to save far more lives.
This podcast really dives into the complexities of substance use and pushes further than just the fact that “drugs are the problem”. For many it’s more than just that simple statement and this podcast really opens the door to how to approach an individual you love with care and compassion and understanding
