Brand Strategy: Why Every Business Needs One
Q: In terms of some practical takeaways, if someone's listening to this, what are perhaps two or three things they could do this week to center back in on what they stand for, who they want to work with, and why they do what they do?
Three simple actions: first, define what you actually want to be known for beyond your services, focusing on the end impact you want to have; second, audit your last five pieces of marketing to ensure your website and social content feel connected and tell a cohesive story with emotional value; third, test whether removing your logo would still make it clear who you are, ensuring your tone and beliefs are unmistakably yours.
Boutique retailers: think outside the box with your stock
Q: What strategies can boutique retailers use to enhance customer experience in-store and online?
Boutique retailers should create cohesive stories with their products, using visual merchandising, scent marketing, and curated bundles to enhance the shopping experience both in-store and online.
Boutique retailers: think outside the box with your stock
Q: What reality surrounds adding homewares to a traditional fashion retail environment?
Homewares can be a less personal purchase compared to fashion, allowing for easier add-ons to customer baskets without the risks associated with fit or style, thus increasing average order values.
Jeremy Vine and Retail Reckoning's Clare Bailey debate minimum wage
Q: Isn't it fair to pay people more if they're more experienced?
That's not what we're arguing. We're talking about basing a wage based on an age and it's not necessarily true that that is related to experience.
Jeremy Vine and Retail Reckoning's Clare Bailey debate minimum wage
Q: What do you think of that, Clare Bailey, that actually putting up the minimum wage for younger people faster than for older people is just fair?
I wouldn't deny it's not fair, but the problem is, they've got to make them cheaper to employ because you've got to train them. If you can choose somebody with experience over a young person with no experience, that's my issue.
