  • Extremely untruthful and full of biased propaganda

The podcast tries to depict a false picture that life in Soviet Georgia was good overall, covertly pushing anti-western Russian agenda.

  • A podcasts for tankies that miss the USSR

I’ve listened to a few podcasts because they have some interesting guests and there aren’t many podcasts about Georgia, but the hosts’ view seems to be “why do people always bring up the gulags and repression and stagnation in the Soviet Union…don’t you the Communists had their hearts in the right place?” 😭

  • Truly amazing scholarly show

Soviet Georgia is, admittedly from a Western POV, a misunderstood and under-researched period in Georgia's history. Given the reactionary demolishment and abandonment of socialism and socialist ideals in the post-socialist countries of Europe and Central Asia, the socialist scholaely resources for the histories of these countries is hard to find in the US. 'Reimagining Soviet Georgia' attempts to change that by introducing listeners to the history of Soviet Georgia as well as featuring academic ... more

  • Genocide Denial

If I could rate this 0 I would. This is a hagiographic depiction of the Soviet Union that explicitly denies the genocide committed by Joseph Stalin, Lavrentiy Beria, and others.

It’s the product of ignorance or malevolence. I hope it’s the former.
