Just started listening to the mask lets play tonight and I have a hard time distinguishing how many players are involved. This is a me problem but normally I can look it up to tell. I'm enjoying the characters but figuring out who's an npc vs a player characters should be easier to do. Performers should be credited at least an Alias if they don't want to list a ... more
I am listening to Descent into Avernus. 4 eps in and I’m completely hooked! I listen to a lot of actual play pods but this one is special. It’s production/story telling is outstanding. DM is phenomenal! Players/characters are immersive and well thought out. I just love it. Haven’t ventured into other areas of this channel but if they are half as good, we’re all in for a treat! Enjoy!!!
Edit: I have now listened for several years. These guys are amazing! I’ve now enjoyed multiple shows and games... more
Excellent actual play podcast
Loving the Enemy Within campaign. Great atmosphere and voice acting. The understated deadpan humour is second only to the fact that there is no off topic discussion. They just get on with it and play game, totally immersed in the characters.
This was the podcast that made me start playing RPGs. So many hours of just pure joy. Thanks!

This show delivers meticulous live-play tabletop RPG sessions with a dark, serialized bent. Across campaigns and one-offs, it often blends Lovecraftian mythos with survival, desert peril, and character-driven drama, featuring skilled keeping and strong production values. Guests and regulars alike contribute expert lore, vivid world-building, and sharp in-game dynamics, creating a cinematic feel that appeals to fans of horror, mystery, and narrative-focused gameplay. A standout trait is the variety of systems explored (including Call of Cthulhu and other dark fantasy settings) paired with high production quality, clear pacing, and thoughtful editing that keeps the story front and center for listeners who crave immersion and atmosphere.
