Recovering with Jennifer Dawn Watts

Jennifer Dawn Watts

Jennifer Dawn Watts is embracing recovery: for herself, and for the people she meets in her clinic, faith community, and daily life. Because recovery doesn’t actually mean stopping an addiction. Recovery means getting something back that's lost or stolen. So technically everyone on the spiritual path is in recovery - of who they really are, and what they’re really here for.

Jenn finds a great balance between being real in a safe way. We’re all on a path to true-ing up our life and Jenn holds space in this conversation of Recovering to get back to who we really are.

  • Authentic

JDW’s new podcast is definitely worth a subscribe. Well thought, well spoken, and real.

Therapists can sometimes trip over psychobabble. Not Jenn. Authentic and unscripted. Interesting and honest. The first podcast taught me about intimacy avoidance.

I’m very much looking forward to how this podcast grows in scope and reach over time.

    It is compelling!

  • Grateful for this.

I was afraid to listen to the "Real in Relationships" episode because I knew that topic would hit me hard, and I was right. But it's good-hard! The anecdotes and the counsel here are bang on, and JDW obviously speaks from genuine experience and hard-won wisdom. The dilemma of being authentic and it not being received well ... where does it leave you? Well, if you're wrestling with that, please listen to this. You don't have to resurrect the poser to protect yourself. Grab the opportunity to grow... more

  • Warmth, wisdom, compassion and a whole bunch more

Full disclosure - I’ve known Jennifer for awhile so was predisposed to like this. Fuller disclosure - I wasn’t expecting to like it quite as much as I do! This is where therapy meets 12 step spirituality to deliver warmth, wisdom, compassion, a few smiles, and the occasional eyebrow raising phrase. Basically it rocks. No, seriously, it really does. Listen.

  • Passionate, honest, lovely

What a beautiful podcast. It seems to me so far that she is one of the few therapists that admits her places of need and allows them to help her in helping others. The podcast feels thoughtful and genuine, as well as capable of bringing us all along on the path of healing.
