Great podcast. You are being more than fair to the LDS faith.
It seems to me that when one starts with the conclusion “Mormonism”, any critical analysis of facts/doctrine of Mormonism can be deemed “antagonistic” or “aggressive”.
Put on your big boy pants Mormons and stop with your logical fallacies
I have never been LDS but was raised in Christianity. This podcast has been so deeply healing and helpful in my own deconstruction. Scott, thank you. You are doing an incredible job.
This podcast is just phenomenal. I've listened to several deconstruction/challenging Mormonism podcasts and this one steals the show. One of my favorite things about RR is that Scott incorporates broader philosophy, and from a wide variety of sources (Classical Greek, Buddhism, etc) Lots of podcasts focus more on the empathy and/or ethical problems of the church (also good stuff) but I love getting into the theological and existential roots of these issues. I was looking for a good unbiased podcast on the topic of LDS theology for ages. This is right on the other side of the line from fair Mormon and hits just right IMO. Sometime I feel like he is reading my mind. Scott is honest, thoughtful, calm in tone, I think very fair, and not afraid to point out the flaws in his own line of thinking when they arise. Plus some amazing interviews sprinkled in.
Start at the beginning and work your way through. You won’t be disappointed.
I recently heard of this podcast and have already spent hours listening to the high quality episodes he puts out. I personally can relate so closely to his experience with the church and I enjoy the way issues and topics are discussed. Keep up the good work!
