  • I have listened to Leo (Uncle Leo as my wife and I refer to him) since his days with TechTV in the 90s. Unfortunately, he has started to fall prey to the trend of politicizing everything. I've come to the point of having to skip the first 30 minutes of each show to get past it all.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Intelligent Machines 873: Superman's Mustache
Q: How do you see AI changing the way films are produced and funded?
AI is driving a hybrid future where it augments production, reduces costs, enables smaller crews, and unlocks localization at scale, supported by initiatives like AI Creators Funds and partnerships with cloud providers. This will accelerate content creation while requiring new workflows and protections for artists.
Intelligent Machines 865: Mythic
Q: Is Mythos truly safe, or is security just a marketing angle?
Daniel explains that while Mythos shows impressive security-oriented capabilities, it's not trained specifically on cybersecurity and the real-world implications require careful, ongoing verification and independent scrutiny.
Intelligent Machines 865: Mythic
Q: Tell us what Mythos is and why Anthropic says it's dangerous.
Mythos is a highly capable model with purportedly strong security features; Anthropic argues it has flaws and risks that could be exploited, hence releasing it in a controlled, limited fashion to major companies first. The panel debates whether this is legitimate risk or marketing.
Intelligent Machines 864: And Artemis Too
Q: What is Every.to's core mission and how did AI fit into it?
Every.to started as a high-quality tech and business newsletter and evolved into a broader platform that blends writing with AI-powered tools and products. Kate Lee explains that the shift was driven by the belief that AI could amplify editorial quality and provide practical, evergreen resources for builders and non-builders alike, while maintaining a clear emphasis on analysis and practical insights rather than just scoops.
This Week in Tech 1075: The Commonwealth Club
Q: What's the biggest risk in the current AI arms race?
The panelists point to cost, governance, and the risk of market bubbles, while also stressing the importance of open, interoperable platforms to avoid market dominance by a few players.
