  • Amazing faithful podcast for a variety of faiths

I’m a queer catholic teen that has always been in very queerphobic, religious communities. I find my group within it but it’s hard. This podcast has helped a lot with my confidence in my identity, especially from a faithful standpoint. I’m even going to use this for my Bible study I have with my friends as a way to help us accept ourselves as a community, making the weight lighter with more hands.

  • Good in concept

I wanted to love this podcast so much. The idea is great and when I found it, I thought this was exactly what I needed as someone trying to figure out my spiritual identity, listening to people approaching theology from a queer-centric lens. But the problem is that so many of the episodes barely start to get into the topic at hand before they then go “for the rest, sign up for X or Y class!” It’s like, to get the full message, you have to pay money. And look, I get it—times are hard and everyone... more

  • Progressive Christianity

The description that this podcast is about creating spirituality on your own terms says it all. It is emphasizes worship of the self not The Almighty. In effect it is just Neo paganism with a Christian label. Please do not listen if you are serious about having a walk with God and growing deeper with Him.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Can We Trust Our Experiences With The Divine?
Q: How should we deal with false prophets and the voices we hear that claim to speak for God, especially when some of those voices come from historically respected sources?
The hosts advise discernment by looking at the fruits of teaching—whether communities experience restoration and healthy growth or harm and division. They emphasize trusting personal intuition while evaluating whether the message aligns with compassionate, transformative theology, and they advocate community-based discernment to avoid radicalizing beliefs alone.
Can We Trust Our Experiences With The Divine?
Q: Our first question, your email about how the good news isn't good news if it isn't good news for everyone. Why is it that churches are so exclusive, and is this just a Protestant issue?
The hosts explain that exclusivity often arises when Christianity is framed as a postmortem reward rather than a lifestyle and present-mue path. When faith is treated as the right belief that guarantees heaven, communities may shortcut Christ's call to love, justice, and solidarity here and now. The discussion stresses recentering faith as a journey toward living out the divine in the present, which changes how scriptural passages about exclusivity are interpreted.
When Safety is at Stake: Organizing in a Time of Crisis with Samantha Boucher
Q: Where can listeners learn more about you and the work you're doing?
Visit translifeboat.org for Kansas-focused work and transliberty.org for broader political efforts; both sites offer ways to connect with communities and support relocation, safety, and advocacy.
When Safety is at Stake: Organizing in a Time of Crisis with Samantha Boucher
Q: What should non-trans listeners do to help right now at their own level of safety?
Engage with local communities, find your own networks, and consider volunteering or donating to regional organizations; stay informed about legislative developments and contact representatives to advocate for protections and humane policies.
When Safety is at Stake: Organizing in a Time of Crisis with Samantha Boucher
Q: How are you approaching the current wave of anti-trans legislation, and where do you see glimmers of hope?
Hope comes from data-driven messaging and from politicians who publicly champion trans rights in rural and purple areas; visibility of supporting examples in diverse communities shows that standpoints on rights can be a unifying, rather than divisive, issue.
