  • Great way to get local news!

I value staying informed about local news but am not often near a radio during the day. This podcast is a great way to keep up with what’s happening around the Bay Area and state! Now I wonder how I ever made it through the day without The California Report! :)

  • Really appreciate this!

Great way to get news from KQED without having to listen to the ubiquitous clips of Trump misinformation/disinformation played on NPR News.

I trust the reporting and appreciate the relevance.

  • Poorly designed

They offer exactly one podcast at a time which might contain multiple broadcasts or not. This means you can miss things AND you will have to listen to the same story multiple times. A much better format would be to place each broadcast or even each story in its on podcast in the feed. Then I will hear all the stories no matter when they were broadcast and won’t have to listen to the same story multiple times

  • Nice mix of interesting

They discuss all kinds of interesting topics. For example, I just listened to a discussion about Formula E cars which are the future of race cars - using electric engines.

Q: So Nate, when did you first suspect something was being used on California's forest land?
Nate explains that his suspicions began when as a forager he noticed areas with no growth and later received a letter from the Forest Service about upcoming thinning and prescribed burns, which led him to inspect documents showing glyphosate as the likely herbicide and to verify that spraying was occurring in forests.
Candidates Spar During California Governor's Debate, State Steps Up Oversight of Santa Clara Child Welfare Agency
Q: So eight candidates on stage, five moderators, what stood out to you?
The debate was unusually unruly, but the standout was how some candidates emphasized experience and contrast, while others leaned into bold policy claims, making the race feel unpredictable yet tightly contested.

Q: What happens next for the project?
The City Council is expected to vote on the project next week, followed by a possible second reading in early May, after which permits, financing rounds, and project approvals can proceed.

Q: What does the state letter say and how has Half Moon Bay responded?

Q: Aditi, can you give us some context first? How did this project come to be?
The 555 Kelly Ave project was proposed in 2022 as a way to provide 40 apartments for senior farm workers and support services, but it has been stalled due to land lease negotiations and local controversy, with officials emphasizing it sits on city land and is subject to state planning requirements.
