A camera is just a tool, but spend enough time with photographers, and you’ll see them go misty-eyed when they talk about their first camera or a small, fast prime that they had in their youth.
Prime Lenses is a series of interviews with photographers talking about their photography by way of three lenses that mean a lot to them. These can be interchangeable, attached to a camera, integrated into... more

I Love prime lenses - both the podcast and the actual lenses!
I’ve been listening for quite a while now and have worked my way through most of the episodes. Ian is a fantastic host with a genuine passion for all things photography. His enthusiasm really shines through and makes every episode engaging.
Thanks to this podcast, I’ve discovered new photographers, interesting cameras, and even some grassroots photo-sharing platforms I’d never heard of before.
Absolutely 10/10 – I can’t fault it. ... more
Undoubtedly the best photography podcast there is. What Iain has created here is truly addictive - the back catalogue is a treasure trove of meaningful discussion about real photograph, not the gear.
Started off great with a unique concept but as the series continued the original idea for the show has been all but abandoned. It’s now random interviews that sometimes don’t even feature photographers and therefore favourite lenses are not even a consideration. This podcast should be re named and re branded. If you go back to the old episodes you will find some gems.
I’ve been listening since episode one and I’ve enjoyed the amazing guest line up and great discussions. Don’t let the title mislead you, while there is often reflection on lenses and gear, each episode is more about hearing diverse perspectives from photographers of different backgrounds, disciplines, and genres.
This is by far my favorite photography podcast to tune into. I love how broad and varied the guests are and how substantial the conversations that unfold are as a result.
