  • I have been listening to this podcast on another platform before I realized that it was here as well. This is the only podcast I listen to on a regular basis as majority of my time is taken up with actual reading or listening to books. This is a wonderful podcast that includes book reviews, talks and interviews with many associated in the JAFF community. Off to go listen to another episode.

  • Opening My Eyes To A Whole New World

I have been a fan of Pride and Prejudice for most of my life. I knew there movie adaptations and the only book adaptation I had read was Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I didn’t realize that there were hundreds of variations to explore.

Even if you don’t read every book for book club you can still enjoy a lively conversation about the alternate universe version of the characters you know and love.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Author Interview: Jayne Bamber - The Sisters' Holiday and The Guardian Gambit
Q: So we talked about, it's a mashup, right? With the holiday like this, where the inspiration started. When did you start thinking this should be a Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility mashup?
Least a year before I started writing it. I'm always thinking like three books ahead.
Author Interview: Cat Andrews
Q: So tell me, how did you fall in love with Pride and Prejudice?
Cat describes discovering Pride and Prejudice through Colin Firth performances and then exploring Jane Austen's world via fan fiction, which drew her into writing her own variations.
Author Interview: Julie Cooper
Q: How did you first fall in love with Pride and Prejudice?
I loved the movies as a casual watcher and then discovered fan fiction in 1995, which opened up the idea that the story could keep going beyond the original ending.
Author Interview: Amy D'Orazio
Q: How did you fall in love with Pride and Prejudice and JAFF, and what drew you to writing in this space?
I got obsessed after watching the BBC version and then searched for more interpretations; that curiosity grew into writing, and I found a community that supported learning and growth in JAFF.
A Wilful Misunderstanding - By Amy D'Orazio
Q: Do you want to go first?
The hosts decide who goes first with a rapid-fire summary, which then leads into a deeper discussion of the romance's dynamics and the book's themes.
