  • A lovely place

Despite the fact I find Inel’s laughing at absolutely every single thing that is said, regardless of whether it’s funny or not, I find this podcast very enjoyable (clearly he has a joy for life that I don’t!) All the presenters & guests seem like genuinely lovely people and it feels like they have tried to create a welcoming and kind space where all opinions are welcome and this is incredibly rare in the often toxic gaming community. Great work!

107: Go To (Buy) Armoured (Core) 6 ft. Luke Westaway and Shay Thompson
Q: Is Armored Core 6 living up to expectations as an unsung title?
Yes, it looks amazing and plays well, but it hasn't sparked the widespread renaissance that was hoped for among FromSoftware fans; it remains beloved by a niche audience who appreciate its mech customization and scale.
107: Go To (Buy) Armoured (Core) 6 ft. Luke Westaway and Shay Thompson
Q: What do you think of GTA 6's price and the absence of a disc version?
There is a mix of practicality and consumer sentiment: digital-only saves production and distribution costs, but many players value ownership and the ability to resell or gift physical copies, which complicates the reception of a fully digital release.
105: Hot Games Summer ft. Amy Mallett
Q: What was your main takeaway from the Summer Games Fest period?
Amy shares that it was a strong, energetic period with lots of announcements and that labeling it as 'Hot Games Summer' captures the mood, while noting the excitement around major titles and the challenge of keeping up with everything.
101: The Muskiest Main Characters ft. Sam Cornforth
Q: On a busy day of oblivion questing in Villages of Devon, you are getting yourself ready for a Press X podcast recording. You decide to splash on that brand new aftershave from your collection of scents by video game characters. Whose aftershave are you picking and what does it smell like?
Sam suggests James Bond's 007 Nightfire would smell like a refined, oak-y, masculine scent, while others propose Kratos as a musky, pine-forward option; the discussion explores what iconic game characters' scents would be.
99: Rik Mayall's Nintendo Monopoly ft. Barney Banks
Q: What feature that we take for granted in games was first introduced in 1984 on the game Pitfall 2 Lost Caverns?
Checkpoints, allowing players to restart from the last saved progress instead of starting over, were first introduced in Pitfall 2 Lost Caverns according to Guinness World Records, marking a breakthrough in how games managed player progression.
