  • Great content, terrible presentation

Could be an invaluable source of information, if I could hear it. The sound quality is abysmal. I understand that equipment is expensive and expertise of that equipment is very tough to obtain, but without them the content is immaterial. Change your sound mix and I will gladly give you 5 stars.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 161: Willingness to Recommend the Profession
Q: What were the major findings regarding burnout and job satisfaction?
Burnout dramatically lowers the likelihood of recommending EMS (around 70% reduction), while higher job satisfaction strongly increases it (at least sixfold), underscoring the importance of improving working conditions.
Ep. 161: Willingness to Recommend the Profession
Q: Why use NPS to study EMS workforce?
Because it focuses on advocacy for the profession and provides a complementary perspective to burnout and job satisfaction, capturing intent to recruit others into EMS.
Ep. 161: Willingness to Recommend the Profession
Q: What is the Net Promoter Score and how is it categorized in this EMS context?
NPS is a standardized measure that classifies respondents as promoters (9-10), passives (7-8), and detractors (0-6); the overall score is promoters minus detractors, which reflects willingness to recommend EMS as a career.
Ep. 153 Crossover Episode: What Simulation Reveals About Pediatric Readiness in EMS
Q: What was the objective of this particular study?
To use validated skills checklists to evaluate EMS team performance in pediatric emergencies and assess gaps in care.
Ep. 154 Deep Dive: Hyperthermic Emergencies!
Q: How is the increasing popularity of these large music festivals influencing the need for advanced on-site medical care and physician leadership at these events?
Advanced planning is important, as production companies realize that having events in rural areas can mean that help is far away, thus increasing the need for on-site care.
