The long and the short of it: I’m having a bit of a medical emergency. This is over and above the medical plans my wife had. To put it simply, I’m becoming a pirate. To put it realistically, I’m suffering a nasty retinal detachment in my left eye. It... more

Like an echo from the past, we return to a classic module both to Shadowrun and the Hiddengrid. Today we’re checking out how another group of runners would have handled the events of that fabled night back in 2050. How will our team deal with Max, He... more
Hidden Grid is perhaps the oldest of the Shadowrun Actual Plays by a rather long stretch. It's a show that covers the golden years of Shadowrun and takes us back to the classic modules. Season 3 sees a change of GM with Opti of the Neo Anarchist taking the duty on which gets REALLY fun! Do yourself a favor and check this one out.
One of the regular Shadowrun Actual Play Podcasts out there. It's an online group, so the audio quality is nothing to write home about, but the selection of classic runs makes it a worthwhile listen.
At first, this podcast was complete magic. Using the SR 2050 sourcebook just worked with the classic adventures. There's an existing program and upgrade cost chart on the Shadowrun forums that the GM could have used, written by the guy who wrote the matrix section of the SR2050 book. Even so it was very well done. Entertaining GM, fun players. Then...the GM made the unfathomable decision to switch to 5th edition, and even worse, update the 2050 hacking rules to 5th edition, including augmented r... more
Wish they would put out more! I'm caught up.
After listening to several actual play podcasts for a couple different systems, I really wanted to focus on SR. Hidden Grid would seem to fit that slot. Overall, I have to say it's got the potential to be one of the best actual play podcasts, but it's hampered by a couple things.
I've found myself literally throwing my headphones at my desk in irritation a few times due to a couple of the players/characters. Either these people are the best role players/actors I've ever heard or they are vastl... more
What a great series! I anticipate every episode and now with the Second Run group going, i love the show even more. I particularly enjoyed the "Rome Burns" arc when the players were at their weakest which has inspired me to want to try my own take at a actual play podcast, though with a different approach than yours.
I have found the Hidden Grid to be wildly entertaining. The GM knows his drek and provides a great mix of classic runs with downtime and character building. The players really commit to thier roles and, without over-dramitizing things, really keep the action flowing and immersing. Keep it up, omaes!
I heard about this from another Shadowrun Podcast, so I checked it out. Even went to the website for some of the ancient episiodes, and I love the actual plays, Specially since the move to SR5. I look forward to listening to more games from you! Keep up the good work
I've listened to two of the episodes so far, #23 and part of #24. I like the back and forth, the descriptions and characters. My major concern is the sheet amount of dice rolling, rules searching and debating during combat scenes. It's painful! The first 30 or so minutes of #23 really brought me back to the Shadowrun world, but then the five-turn combat took an hour to get through. If you just cut out all the unneccessary yammering, pausing and rules searches, it would be much more listenab... more
Great GM, excellent players, classic modules. I've been really enjoying the podcast.
This podcast rules. It has the trifecta: Cool Characters, Story and Setting. It is by far the best actual play style podcast I have heard. I'm experiencing all these classic Shadowrun tales for the first time and it's faaaaantastic! The GM keeps it moving and the players don't talk over each other too much. I love it! More please!
I have been enjoying this podcast quite a bit since discovering it. Thee is a noticeable lack of shadowrun actual plays out there and I eagerly listen to each one I find. I am conflicted on the setting choice though for this one. As fun as it is to hear people playing classic adventures that I haven't thought of in ages, I find myself wishing they were playing in modern era shadowrun. That is just a minor quibble though. The main thing that irks me a bit about this podcast is the guy who plays ... more
