Thank you guys for this amazing podcast resource. I have benefited from your discussions so much, and literally feel like that we’re connected. I enjoyed all of the episodes on this channel and sure hope that you guys and gals are doing well in your careers. I am in year 3 of my PhD and needed this boost. Thank you guys. With love from Warren in Cape Town, South Africa
You and Haley play off of eachother so well. Would either of you consider making her a permanent co-host? I would love that! Her perspective is amazing and plays off yours so well. Thank you for the podcast!
Though countless students apply to graduate school every year, there is a dearth of information about what life as a doctoral student is actually like. Your university has a page describing the program, but it's extremely refreshing to hear from the students themselves about everything from productivity tips to parenthood. The co-hosts have a great energy and are always informative and entertaining. Thanks!
Thanks for making this podcast!! I really enjoy listening to this podcast and find it refreshing that I am not alone in alot of the struggles I am facing while pursuing my Ph.D!! I am not an imposter!! lol
Very funny and lots of great advice! I originally tuned in for just one topic, but the podcasters had such great chemistry and so many informative insights and stories, I couldn't resist listening to more. Even on topics you think you know everything about, I guarantee you'll find some fun and fresh perspectives!
What a gem! I'm in my 2nd year PhD and happy that I found this podcast! Great topics and helpful discussions! It's refreshing. Can you talk about women in higher education (any issues, challenges, advice)? I'm in a phd program that is dominantly male (science, technical, engineering, for health informatics) as a young woman. Thanks!
I’m not in grad school yet, but I’m trying to get an idea of what it will be like and this podcast has been a great resource. The hosts are thoughtful and relatable and the shows are entertaining as well as informative. Definitely worth a listen.
Has anybody listen to this?
I’d recommend this podcast to any current or prospective graduate students- the speakers always keep the topics fresh and interesting.
My only complaint is that while there were two episodes about finding non-academic jobs after grad school, there hasn’t been anything yet about pursuing postdoctoral positions/tenure track positions. That’s something I’d like to hear about!!
This is a great podcast to let you peek into other people's phd life, from different school, from different background, their story and most importantly valuable experience!
As an international student, there exists an isolation in grad school, you go to the other side of the earth alone, learn culture, take classes, start to conduct and present research in different language, try hard to eliminate accent, learn how to do jokes in different culture, try to deal with the ignorant and arrogant fr... more
Great podcast that addresses the aspects of grad school outside of the actual research. It's like having friends sit witrh me and chat while I'm at the scope or sectioning embryos.
Keep up the fine work!
Great topics, a good laugh, and helpful advice for graduate students. The mix of thought-provoking statements and well-placed humor make this podcast a joy to listen to, and is great for busying your ming while doing mindless tasks during your day!
Informative podcast that provides insights into the process of earning a Ph.D and everything that comes along with that. A Wide range of topics are covered by the hosts, all of whom are in various levels of their graduate program.
Thanks for making this podcast accessible and inclusive of everyone! Whether you are thinking about getting a PhD, in graduate School or on your way out, your advise is so valuable. Keep up the great work!!
A great fresh and objective look at the life of the PhD and what comes after. Worth listening to if you in Academics and thinking about what comes next.
