Also really glad that Vrabel is signaling a focus on winning his “balanced” and “efficient” way — not trying to simply entertain the “throw it all over the yard” quant crowd. If I can’t have Bill, I’ll take the next best thing — someone who sees football and leadership the same way ;-) If this outcome do... more

Great show today — loved hearing the two informed viewpoints and the passion. Also had a great mix of opinion and the right level of detailed football/play analysis…

How anybody likes these guys I don’t know. They’re sloppy, speak really slowly and forget details such as players’ names constantly. Don’t bother.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

WHY Patriots Defense Can Be Top 10 in NFL this Season
Q: What were your takeaways from the Super Bowl plan and how the Patriots might adjust with the new personnel?
The discussion suggests a shift toward a versatile, nickel-heavy front, with more defined roles and a rotation that keeps pass rush fresh while preserving run defense, along with new front-seven pieces to handle 12/13 personnel more effectively.
Recapping Patriots 2026 Draft + UDFA Class
Q: Who is most likely to make the roster from the UDFA group?
Kyle Dixon emerged as the most likely due to the large contract and the money invested, with others like Tanner Arkin also having a real shot due to blocking and special-teams value.
Recapping Patriots 2026 Draft + UDFA Class
Q: What was the biggest surprise in the draft for you?
Many felt the top-100 selections were solid but not flashy; the surprise was how aggressively they moved up to secure Akis and how the team doubled down on O-line and tight end, signaling a practical, value-driven approach rather than chasing immediate stars.
Patriots MOCK Draft Post Free Agency with Evan Lazar | Patriots Daily
Q: Evan, what do the Patriots need to hit? Give us maybe a top four or five, and how do you see those needs aligning with the draft?
The group prioritizes edge rusher, wide receiver, and tackle as top needs, with a note on depth at tight end and the importance of developing young players to complement aging veterans, while considering the trade-down option for additional picks.
Patriots MOCK Draft Post Free Agency with Evan Lazar | Patriots Daily
Q: Moving into the back end of this first round, are you of the mindset of best player available, or is this a strictly position of need situation for the Patriots?
The panel leans toward a middle ground, favoring best player available but acknowledging premium positions like tackle and edge; they caution against reaching for a need at 31 and suggest balancing value with team-building considerations.
