  • Essential Listening!

Basically a grown up subject for grown ups, by grown ups! Great selection of subjects, interesting SME’s and couple of really good hosts - what more could you want from a podcast? oh, and no swearing - not that the subject usually engenders this lack of vocabulary but for some reason these days podcasters seem to think it’s necessary to swear to show “smart and edgy” they are, ah well…please keep up up the output, greatly appreciated - love the shops too, some of the best around!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

92: 60 Years of Innovation with Berghaus
Q: How does Berghaus involve customers in the development process?
They leverage the Mountain House Test Squad to gather feedback from a diverse group of outdoor lovers, using tests ranging from lab to field to road trips.
92: 60 Years of Innovation with Berghaus
Q: How do you define product innovation in your work?
Rosie explains it as solving real people's problems, whether with existing solutions or by inventing new ones, and keeping the consumer at the center of the process.
93: Elite Ultra Running with Stephanie Case
Q: How have technology and gear evolved since your early races, and how do you balance data with flow on the trail?
Gear has become much lighter and smarter; I still use data after races for training, while in the moment I focus on flow rather than constantly calculating metrics, trusting the process and using the data to inform future training.
91: Unleashed! Adventure Kit For Dogs
Q: Why is water resistance not enough for dog jackets, and what should customers look for in a truly waterproof option?
Waterproof jackets should have taped seams and a genuine membrane; owners should re-proof regularly since surface-water repellents wear off with washing, and DWR coatings should be maintained for lasting performance.
91: Unleashed! Adventure Kit For Dogs
Q: And what would you say people should be looking for when they're choosing a harness for their dog?
Fit is the top priority, with adjustable straps across the shoulders and belly to accommodate different dogs and avoid irritation, followed by quick-dry fabrics and reflective features for safety.
