「目が見えなくなってからの方が物事がよく見えるようになった」って言う人がいた。想像力で世界を構成できるようになったかららしい。
結局、目に見えてるものじゃなくて、自分の頭でどう認識するかが全てなんだって。制約がないと「どう使えばいいか」なんて思いつかないもんね。

森田さん曰く、健常者が「普通」とする生き方のモデルは、自分には全然通用しないらしい。だって、「見りゃわかるじゃん」って言われても見えないんだもん。だから、周りの人が何を楽しいと感じてるのか、その手がかりを求めて、自分の直感的な興味だけを頼りに生きているんだとか。

今回のポッドキャストは、ゲストの森田さんが語る「目の見え方」についてです。
森田さんは、目の病気で「見えづらい」という状態なのですが、ひとことで「視覚障害」と言っても、人によって見え方は全然違うとのこと。多くの人がイメージする「何も見えない」わけではなく、その多様な見え方を人に伝えるのはとても難しいそうです。
同じように「見えづらい」状態の人たちと話す機会はほとんどないそうで、お互いの見え方を知ることで、新しい気づきがあるかもしれない、と語っています。

先週からに引き続き、ゆうすけさんが、メンタルヘルスを保つために「お金をかけてでも趣味に没頭すること」がめちゃくちゃ大事だと熱く語っています。
もし趣味を続けられなくなったら「精神的にかなりしんどい」状態になってしまう、趣味をちゃんと続けられる環境を整えることが、彼らしい明るさをつくっている秘訣なんだそうです。
