  • A beautiful doozy of a podcast

I don’t know where to start! Listening to this podcast is like attending a dinner party underneath an oak tree in summer. It’s peaceful and abuzz at the same time. Jessica’s voice was made for this and she asks big questions right out of the gate. Episodes are jam-packed with insights, resources and recommendations. Love it!

  • Everything from Jessica is gold!

I’ve been a listener since day one of Jessica, starting with her One Part podcast. “Podcast host” is her calling! The content and topics in her episodes are so enjoyable and informative, but there’s also a lightness in the way she carries the interview and makes each guest feel comfortable to open up. “Inside + Outside” is such a breath of fresh air. I feel relaxed when I listen to it. Hearing her guests describe their first nature memory feels like the beginning of a guided meditation lol.

Season Finale! Why Amsterdam Banned Meat + Fossil Fuel Ads and Diet Coke, Cigs, and Pop Culture News with Allyson Holleb (stylist and pop culture reporter)
Q: Would you go to the Met Gala if invited, and who would you want at your table?
Allyson says she would consider going depending on her career stage, but she would weigh the optics and the values of attending, acknowledging the event's cultural pull while noting the complexities of exclusivity and power at such gatherings.
How Flowers Made Our World and Heated Social Media Debates with David George Haskell (author of The Forest Unseen)
Q: What is the exercise you suggest for listeners to engage with a flower, and why does it matter?
Sit with a flower for five minutes to an hour and try to see the world from the flower's perspective, observe how it communicates with insects, and imagine its networks; this floral meditation fosters unselfing and a deeper connection to the surrounding ecology.
How Flowers Made Our World and Heated Social Media Debates with David George Haskell (author of The Forest Unseen)
Q: When you define a flower, how do you frame its meaning for a general audience?
There are two meanings: the familiar floral form with petals and scent, and the broader flowering plant including leaves and roots that support the reproductive parts. This dual view helps explain flowers as agents in ecosystems and culture, not just ornaments.
The Nature Faker Controversy and Peter Hujar's Day with Mason Currey (author of Daily Rituals + Making Art and Making A Living)
Q: What is the motivation for your art?
Currey explains that the core motivation is the itch or hunch that this is going to be cool, the fulfillment when a sentence or idea finally clicks, and the joy of reading about someone they admire; money is secondary, just enough to keep doing it.
Extinction Of Experience, The Truth About Barbie, and The Tiktokfication of The Beckham Family Drama with Tarpley Hitt
Q: What are your thoughts on the extinction of experience?
Tarpley questions the metrics of human experience with nature and discusses urban limitations to accessing green spaces.
