Love when Brian has Ian on from SoxProspects but when Brian is left to his own devices he ends up sounding like a broken record regarding the Sox and FSG. Guys talking about the Red Sox just being marginally better in 2026 when the offseason isn’t over yet. Sox need to spend more, I agree, but they need to spend with intent and locking up Alonso for 30 million a year for five years would’ve been a criminal use of resources considering he can’t play defense and we already have Masa who’s a sunk c... more
This would be a much better podcast if you left the “I’m smarter than the experts” comments out. Share the numbers u want but be smart enough to know that the numbers almost never (if ever) tell the whole story.
I just started listening to this as the Red Sox got hot in the last few months. I am a knowledgeable baseball fan, very casual basketball, football, and hockey fan.
Brian covers everything with enthusiasm.
He really breaks down the pitch mix and habits of Red Sox players. While I’m sure he despises the Yankees, Astros, etc. he evaluates their teams fairly and is not a Red Sox homer.
Should be essential listening in the coming week as the Sox make their run and the Celtics prepare for their rem... more
Please stop with the historical bellyaching — we’re all tired of it — move on… Also, stop being hypocritical — you use the offensive line for excuses for Maye but not the running backs. Stevenson is a good back — not even a great back would have overcome that line and no passing game threat. Your favoritism is very transparent…
While I enjoy OTP, Brian has some annoying speaking habits that hold it back:
• He often interrupts his guests
• He uses a lot of wordy/redundant phrases, such as “at this particular point in time” (just say “now”); “with regard to…” (just say “about”); etc.
If he could edit, slow down, and let his guests speak, it would greatly improve the podcast.
