  • Love her!

I loved her since I saw her on Watch What Happens. She is witty, real and raw without being whiny. I love her voice and her laugh- I just feel optimism from her (even though she says people see her as a cynic:)I usually only listen to this kind of podcasts when I know the guest. This one, however, I listen to EVERY episode. Please keep going!

  • Fun, insightful & refreshing

I really enjoy S.E.’s open and engaging personality. She’s a breath of fresh air. Her choice in guests is also perfect, as is her casual approach to drawing her guests out.

Zero politics here, and i am here for it. Together we are stronger, and this podcast exemplifies this. Also love that she touches on mental health, which is a challenge for all, on some level.

  • Very Surprising

I just listened to 2 episodes and, as a new listener, I was very surprised and very entertained by this podcast. I had known S.E. Cupp as a reporter so I guess her interviewing skills carried over very nicely.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What happened to the party of ideas?
Q: What do you think happened to the party of ideas?
The party moved away from principled advocacy toward power and spectacle, undermining the marketplace of ideas and eroding trust in institutions; a centrist coalition is needed to rebuild a shared core of beliefs and practical solutions.
Republicans, be careful what you wish for
Q: What comes next for Democrats? What comes next for Republicans? What comes next for voters?
Van Jones suggests the parties need to redefine themselves post-Trump, with a focus on pragmatic leadership, bridging divides, and appealing to everyday concerns like economics and job security, rather than pure loyalty to the old guard.
Redistricting, Hantavirus, and SE’s silver linings playbook
Q: So let's talk about hantavirus. Should people be worried or overreacting?
We should be concerned about those on the ship and close contacts, but for the average person, major behavior changes aren't necessary; focus on appropriate exposure assessment and guidance rather than broad panic.
Why voters are in their populist era
Q: What's your take on the Pod Save interview with Ken Martin and the decision not to release the autopsy?
Mo Elleithee argues that promise-keeping matters in politics; releasing some or all of the autopsy would have been a confidence-building move for voters, signaling accountability and a willingness to address mistakes rather than stay silent. He emphasizes that voters want to see self-reflection and concrete changes, not excuses.
From reality star ‘villain’ to mayoral hopeful
Q: How do you respond to critics who compare you to national figures or celebrities in politics?
He argues that his motivation is local and grounded in firsthand experience with loss and community impact, insisting that the focus should be on repairing LA rather than labeling him as a celebrity.
