One of my favorite parts of this work is watching nonprofit leaders grow into fundraisers not because they become slick salespeople, but because they discover that fundraising is really about relationships.
That's exactly what happened with my guest... more

This episode honestly changed the way I think about planned giving.

Such an honest and refreshing discussion on why boards struggle with fundraising and how leaders can approach it in a more human way. I really enjoyed listening to this episode, especially the point about shifting from “asking for money” to inviting people into the mission.
I’ve been a long time listener, have followed Rhea’s book and now I am signing off. If your business is politics, then be in politics. If your business is helping nonprofits grow, leave politics at the door. We’ve all been inundated with the bombardment of political scum. Most of us look to you to be the light.
I am a new ED at a startup nonprofit and Rhea’s podcast has been so helpful at teaching me how to do this job!!
Love this podcast. Rhea approaches the non profit world with an actual business mentality. Some of the other podcasts in this space seem too “cheerleady” for me, but Rhea’s actually functions to get me focused like any other business.
So inspiring! As someone who has fairly recently fallen into fundraising, this podcast has really opened up so many conversations for me and my organization on how we view fundraising. I’m excited for every episode because I know I’m going to learn something new or think about an aspect of fundraising from a new perspective. Keep it up!

High-signal episodes center on sustainable fundraising systems, volunteer leadership, and ethical storytelling for nonprofits. Hosts draw from hands-on experience to expose common failures—burnout, broken processes, and unclear donor pipelines—and offer concrete frameworks, such as operating systems and consent-based fundraising, to improve retention, major gifts, and board involvement. Notable guests tend to be seasoned nonprofit leaders, fundraisers, and social-sector strategists who share practical, scalable tactics for fundraising, governance, and culture. The show's strength lies in actionable takeaways, realistic budgeting, and a willingness to critique traditional approaches in favor of modern, humane fundraising practices. Potential... more
