When it comes to blockchain, the thing people talk about most — the price — is actually the least interesting part. Crypto conversations are too often about who’s up and who’s down, what to buy and what to sell, and today’s drama on Twitter. Most conversations about crypto miss how it’s going to change ... everything. On VALIDATED, we’ll be talking to the people who are rethinking the internet — a... more

  • Brilliant

I really enjoyed the episode where Anatoly talks with Kevin Rose about the NFT craze, the dynamic art and encrypting mystery over time, and Blockchain - how will this impact NFTs in art and games.

  • Actual useful information

Amongst all the useless, hype driven podcasts on crypto, this podcast has actual useful information. It is a great deep dive into the community building in Solana and a look into Anatoly’s world. I wish every layer 1 chain had something like this. I would 100% recommend adding this to your listening list!

  • One of my favorite blockchain podcasts

Has more depth than a lot of crypto podcasts out there. Whether you follow Solana chain or not, this is a good one to increase your industry perspective and get smarter.

  • Good podcast but could use some work

It’s a good podcast due to the founder having access to amazing guests. But questions are often not very insightful and worse can seem uninformed.

Not quite sure how much Anatoly actually researches on his guests beforehand, but it doesn’t seem like it’s a lot.

However, it’s nice to hear the thoughts of the Solana founder through various topics, just wish it’s more polished.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why Privacy Tech Is Having Its Moment with Seth for Privacy (Cake Wallet)
Q: Why is privacy becoming a bigger moment now, and how has Cake Wallet contributed to that shift?
The guest discusses historical underinvestment in privacy, the improvement of wallet UX, and the decision to enforce privacy by default to create a user-friendly experience, enabling mainstream adoption while protecting users' financial privacy.
Why Privacy Tech Is Having Its Moment with Seth for Privacy (Cake Wallet)
Q: What got you interested in privacy as a concept, a product, and a place to help build a company?
The guest explains that privacy emerged as a central concern through involvement with Monero and the broader privacy space, driven by experiences with privacy vulnerabilities in everyday tech and the realization that financial privacy is foundational to broader personal privacy.
The Constellation Debate, Part 1 with Ben Coverston (Temporal)
Q: How would MCP compare to a world with drastically shortened slot times and a single proposer, in terms of censorship resistance and throughput?
They discuss that shorter slots with a single proposer could simplify protocol design and reduce latency, but MCP aims to decentralize scheduling to reduce monopoly risks, at the cost of added complexity and potential information leakage; the balance depends on empirical results and design refinements.
The Constellation Debate, Part 1 with Ben Coverston (Temporal)
Q: What is the core motivation behind Constellation and MCP, and is there empirical motivation backing it?
The guests argue that the motivation is central, but they criticize the lack of empirical data or concrete analysis in the Constellation paper, urging more calculations and real-world data to justify the trade-offs.
The Constellation Debate Part 2, with Brennan Watt (Anza)
Q: Why introduce a 16-proposer system instead of preserving a single leader or a smaller set, and how does this affect censorship resistance and latency?
The 16-proposer design reduces the risk of a single point of censorship or manipulation by distributing the encoding and selection workload, enabling competitive ordering without centralized bottlenecks. It creates a marketplace for order that preserves determinism while offering some speed gains, balancing latency with censorship resistance via distributed attestations and data availability.
