If you’re a committed consumer of racing, or simply a more casual fan, you need drilling rights to this podcast. Happily, they’re easily secured.
Whether it’s the eponymous and always excellent Luck at the helm, or one of his merry-go-round of affable understudies, this show assembles an eclectic combination of the most salient and apposite opinions in the sport, invariably straight from the horse’s mouth, and rolls them out in lucid fashion, with a Partridgean reference seldom far away.

This is the most varied and interesting Racing show by far
Had a proper laugh at the Evan Williams commentary
He’s clearly under the impression that he’s dealing with the stewards at Ludlow rather than the law.
Drain 😀
This is my goto show. As a racing enthusiast I listen religiously. Nick is a great servant to the sport. Just listening to today’s broadcast from Melbourne. The quote that jumped out to me was the ‘wagering and racing go hand-in-hand. Wagering funds racing and we’re in a good place for the sport’. Whilst I really like this podcast I’m bored of hearing how well the sales are going. The cost of living crisis in this country is real and the last thing I need is hearing how much money the billionaires have and are spending. Can’t wait until you talk about actual racing.

A fast-paced, globally minded racing show that blends race action with data-driven analysis, governance debate, and behind-the-scenes industry perspectives. Episodes frequently pair race commentary with trainer and jockey insights, cross-Atlantic comparisons on prize money and scheduling, and discussions about track conditions, sustainability, and governance changes. A standout trait is the show's ability to mix on-site festival atmosphere with analytical rigor from Total Performance Data and Timeform, plus in-depth interviews with influential owners, breeders, and administrators, making it valuable for listeners who want both practical racing insight and broader industry context.
