  • #Contemporary Korean Art: Tansaekhwa

I just listened to the fabulous 2014 interview with Joan Kee on the history of contemporary art in Korea. Contemporary Korean Art: Tansaekhwa and the Urgency of Method (University of Minnesota Press, 2013). I collect Tansaekwa and yet has missed this until now. Excellent thank you!

  • Fascinating show

Love this show. I particularly liked the interview with Jessica Helfand about her book. I agree that there is more to be said about the humanity of images of faces that we'd normally not look twice at like Instagram selfies and mugshots (and the encoded information you can glean about the people behind the camera!) I’m looking forward to more episodes!!

Counter-Revolutionary Puzzles with Guillermo Badia
Q: How does your interest in detective fiction relate to your work in logic?
Detective stories train you to gather clues, form hypotheses, and piece together coherent explanations, mirroring the logical method of seeking the most plausible truth through puzzle-like problems in mathematics and computer science.
Counter-Revolutionary Puzzles with Guillermo Badia
Q: Did you ever think you would use the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy to explore medieval philosophy?
Yes, I had already decided I wanted to be a logician by the time I reached the Stanford Encyclopedia, and it became a key resource as I built my foundation in logic long before I fully understood what that entailed.

This diary intertwines performance with personal memory and family dynamics, showing how the band's legacy continues through the next generation, and it reveals how individual nights carry unique atmospheres that reflect broader historical connections.
The 50th Anniversary Tour of Patti Smith's Horses: A Conversation with Caryn Rose
Q: Why did you decide to publish this chat book now, and how did the process come together?
I wanted to capture the immediacy and urgency of Patti Smith's live presence during this 50th anniversary tour and to document the evolving stories around the performances, the lineup, and the audience, in a format that could be produced independently and released more quickly than traditional publishing.
