Just discovered this excellent football podcast. As someone who no longer follows the game, it takes me back to when I loved it. Being a proper nerd, I'm starting from episode 1. Highly recommend
One of the best football podcasts around: intellectual without being dry, witty without being silly, and consistently informative. The fact they’re accurate on the topics I’m most knowledgeable about - namely Scottish football, Man United and ‘80s politics - means I tend to trust that they’re spot on on other topics, too.

Episodes frequently center on iconic World Cups, European finals, and major tournaments, weaving in author interviews, historical analysis, and personal memories to explore how the game shaped and reflected wider society. Listeners can expect thorough storytelling, long-form conversations, and thoughtful critiques of tactics, media narratives, and football culture from eras when the sport felt equally about drama, politics, and identity. A notable strength is the blend of scholarly analysis with first-hand recollections from players, journalists, and historians, often anchored by a consistent host... more
