  • Love it

I’m not even a bike dealer, but I love this podcast. The shop talk makes bike retail attractive. I’m sure it’s tough, but this resource would be really helpful. Fun stuff.

  • Hard to listen

Positives: 1 or 2 ideas out of some episodes. Negatives: needs a new host that is not over the top and is realistic with what it’s really like working or managing a shop. Mostly common sense topics and ideas presented by a host that needs to be replaced. Hard to listen to. Actually I have one more positive comment. Please, all our competitor bike shops, please take her advice. It’s the same ol’ same ol’ way of doing LBS and really has nothing new to say. Our shop is coming from an entirely diffe... more

When Online Discovery Meets Local Inventory
Q: Where are bike shops losing customers in the online-to-local journey, and how does Locally address that?
Most shoppers begin online, research what's available nearby, and then want to buy locally for service and immediacy; Locally ensures in-stock visibility across manufacturer sites and Google, and aligns inventory with local pickup or delivery options to prevent losing customers to remote or unavailable stock.
When Online Discovery Meets Local Inventory
Q: Can you break it down in simple terms on how retailers work with Locally?
Locally has three main steps: claim and optimize your Locally account to control your store's listing, connect your inventory feed by linking your POS so products show as in stock, and finally enable purchase options like buy online and same-day delivery, with ongoing analytics to improve visibility and stock decisions.
Bike Central Build Out: Retail Design Flex - Episode 21
Q: What happened with the lighting plan and how was it resolved?
The lighting designer specified two-by-two fixtures, but the contractor installed can lights, making the space feel underlit. Cory negotiated with the contractor and engineers to replace the lighting with the correct fixtures, increasing brightness and clarity in the shop.
Growing the Next Generation of Riders: Jennifer Crawford and Kent Jacobs on Strider Bikes, Youth Cycling, and Dealer Success
Q: Can you tell us why Strider is involved in advocacy beyond the product?
Advocacy stems from a passionate belief that riding is a foundational life skill that benefits kids' development, mobility, and confidence, and it helps build a larger, sustainable base of riders who will later engage with the full Strider family of products.
The Friday Retailer Flex - Episode 186
Q: When does it get to be too much in terms of communication?
While overcommunication is possible, most shops struggle to use the tools enough, but marketing messages should be tailored to avoid overwhelming customers.
