Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Live in Boston – September 8, 2023
Q: Is there a proof of reference for students who have taken a gap year or two to gain experience in the field?
It's not really a gap year but rather a launch of your career; experiences can strengthen your application.
Live in New York City – September 15, 2023
Q: What is the number one thing you see frequently in law school essays that you would highly advise against?
Starting every sentence with 'I' or 'my' as it comes across as self-absorbed and repetitive.
Live in New York City – September 15, 2023
Q: How are schools viewing the gradual LSAT and GPA increases that have been documented over the past few years?
Admissions officers understand that the test scores reflect consistent levels and won't differentiate based on time of scoring, while grade inflation complicates how students are viewed.
Live in Seattle – October 11, 2023
Q: What considerations do you take into account for students applying for a joint degree program?
You have to apply to each program separately, but there's no advantage to applying to a joint degree unless it's central to why you're attending law school.
Live in Seattle – October 11, 2023
Q: Are softs in admissions really as overlooked as some say they are, or can they improve chances of admission?
The softs are extremely important, but they are necessary, not only sufficient.
