  • Practical

The podcast is quite promotional of its own product, which is to be expected. The nice thing is that they are focused on the outcomes of the student in realistic terms. Sometimes they are a bit negative, but considering the cost of Law School and often meager outcomes, I don’t blame them. I learned a lot from it. I also enjoyed the LSAT Demon tool.

  • 5 Stars!

Love the consistency of Bathan (Ben and Nathan). They give strict guidance with their approach to the LSAT and Law School and as you keep listening you understand why they’re so strict. I recommend this podcast if you’re on the fence about law school or the LSAT. It will definitely make you question whether or not this is for you or not. I appreciate the straightforwardness in their approach because the legal field is not going to hold your hand so I prefer their directness. If you don’t need yo... more

I have been studying with LSAT Demon for about a year and it has been an absolute game changer! I just scored in the 170s on the June 2024 LSAT. The LSAT Demon team has taught me so much along the way, not only about the LSAT, but about killing it in life in general. Please listen to this podcast, you will pick up so many great tidbits along the way! Such great advice on here, and it’s a free podcast to boot! :-)

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Know What You Want (Ep. 1451)
Q: Hi Ben and team, I have a question about declaring a legal specialty in my personal statement, specifically construction law and construction management. Should I avoid declaring this specialty, or are there schools that favor it and will look for it on my application?
The hosts explain that declaring a specialty with strong, verifiable experience can strengthen an application because it aligns your work history with your law school goals. They advise not worrying about schools disfavoring it, since the key is to back up the claim with real data from your resume. They also stress that LSAT readiness is the primary concern at this stage, and that you can frame your construction experience as a stepping stone to your intended practice, even if not all schools offer a formal construction-law specialty.
Get the Right Deal (Ep. 1452)
Q: Would you encourage someone to push for big‑law prospects if they prioritize a nine‑to‑five lifestyle and meaningful courtroom work?
They acknowledge big‑law can be demanding and often doesn't align with a desired 9‑to‑5 lifestyle, emphasizing that many roles in criminal defense or prosecution can offer satisfying, stable careers without debt burdens, especially if funded through scholarships.
Get the Right Deal (Ep. 1452)
Q: What should someone worry about when a school offers conditional scholarships or odd terms in the grant agreement?
They advise reading the terms carefully, noting contingencies that could affect funding, and comparing to other options (like Cincinnati) to ensure the overall package isn't unfavorably structured.
Get the Right Deal (Ep. 1452)
Q: Josh and I have a listener asking if it's okay to settle for a law school with a median LSAT around 160‑165 if they can secure a good price and scholarship.
The hosts suggest that stability and debt avoidance are more important than chasing a higher median LSAT; they recommend aiming for affordable schools with solid scholarships, especially if the student already has strong GPA and LSAT alignment with their goals, and to consider working toward a realistic target like 165‑167 to keep options open.
Build Meaning to Crush RC (Ep. 1455)
Q: Is there a way to force myself to lock in during reading comp sections?
The hosts suggest actively engaging with the passage by predicting what comes next, slowing down, and asking what each part means, which helps maintain focus and improve comprehension rather than relying on autopilot.
