Q: Can you give us a short explanation of your project?
We explored the drivers of schistosomiasis, discovering connections between agriculture and higher prevalence of infection due to fertilizer runoff. We then implemented a project to remove invasive vegetation, which reduced schistosomiasis infections while turning that vegetation into compost, livestock feed, and biofuel.
