  • Not just for kids!!!

Our whole family loves this podcast! The kids love learning all the cool facts, and I love listening right along with them. Printing out the free coloring sheet and listening to an episode together is a weekly rhythm for us. I love how thoughtfully Eryn weaves amazing nature stuff with talking about God and the Bible. • Family Favorite

My toddler loves this podcast. She has learned so much (and so have I!) since we began listening on our daily walks. Her favorite topics so far have included seahorses, foxes, and bees, plus that amazing hammerhead shark encounter of Dr. Carter’s. She especially enjoys the episodes dedicated to answering listener’s questions and may very well be a future caller. I’m grateful that she gets to learn about God’s awesome creatures from a Biblical Creationist perspective.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Can Rainbows Happen at Night? Lesson 128
Q: Why are rainbows so colorful and arranged in a specific order?
Colors appear in a specific order because light bends by different amounts inside raindrops, causing dispersion; red bends least and violet most, resulting in the familiar sequence red to violet seen in rainbows.
Can Rainbows Happen at Night? Lesson 128
Q: What gives animals color?
Colors in birds come from carotenoids in their diet and from structural colors created by microscopic structures in feathers that bend light, combining nutrition and biology to produce vibrant plumage, which reflects God's creative design.
Why Did God Make Mosquitoes? Lesson 129
Q: Why did God make mosquitoes?
The host explains that mosquitoes are part of God's good creation and, despite their biting, play a role in pollination and ecosystem balance. The episode also frames the question within the biblical narrative, noting that sin affected creation but God designed creatures to have purposes such as pollinating plants and supporting food chains, while humans have developed tools to protect themselves.
How Does a Sea Star Regrow an Arm? Lesson 126
Q: Hello, my name is Charlotte. If a starfish loses an arm, can a new starfish grow from that broken arm?
Yes, if the detached ray remains attached to part of the central disk, a new sea star can grow from the ray, effectively cloning itself in a remarkable display of regeneration.
How Does a Sea Star Regrow an Arm? Lesson 126
Q: Hi, my name is Malachi, and how can turtles swim without closing their eyes?
The host explains turtles have a special third eyelid, the nictitating membrane, which protects their eyes underwater while allowing them to see, a clever biological feature that helps them navigate and avoid predators.
