  • A Podcast We All Need

These conversations provide a unique glimpse into the rich tapestry of experiences that shape drummers' journeys, making for compelling listening.

Sometimes the drummers seem to be bit a bit out of touch but the hosts always do a really good job of making the conversation relatable.

I would love to see this podcast continue to grow and expand beyond just Nashville to include more popular drummers as there aren’t too many podcasts that do that.

Also, Nathan is, literally unbelievable on drum... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Aaron Paulsen: The Art of Content & Creativity, One-Man Band, Skillmaxxing, Social Media Trends
Q: How would you describe what you do content-wise?
I make music-based comedy content, with some videos being shorthand musical sketches and others longer-form pieces that still center around music but showcase more of my personality and creative process.
Jeffrey Adami: On Tour w/ Jordan Feliz, Burnout, Mental Health, Faith, and Identity Beyond Music
Q: What does the drummer see as the big driver of success in Nashville?
Hard work, discipline, and a willingness to say yes to opportunities while maintaining balance and staying true to one's identity and faith.
Brian Czach: Building a Professional Career, Playing with Orchestras, Art of Adapting, Healthy Habits, Home Recording
Q: What practical steps would you recommend to a drummer aiming for a sustainable career?
Develop a home studio gradually, record your performances, build a repertoire, understand your gear, and focus on consistency and health; avoid chasing only flashy chops and seek to play musically and reliably.
Brian Czach: Building a Professional Career, Playing with Orchestras, Art of Adapting, Healthy Habits, Home Recording
Q: How did you first get into playing in a symphony and orchestral settings?
A friend from school, Tony Desair, connected him to Nashville Symphony through introductions and after meeting conductor Enrico Lopez-Yanez, he was brought in for Pops shows and later expanded to other concerts.
Tom Kinka: Persistence & Idiocy, On Tour w/ Lecade, Stick Trick Mastery, Drum Lessons & Mentors
Q: How did you break into Lecade's band and transition from Broadway to touring with a younger artist?
He was invited to learn the songs on short notice, learned Ableton quickly, and used mentors in the Lecade camp to prepare; a key moment was recognizing opportunities even when subbing, and leaning into the belief that Broadway would coexist with touring work.
