  • Good guy Better music podcast

Brian is a very charismatic host. Very knowledgeable about music. There are very few bands that I mention to him that he doesn’t already know, at least, to some degree.

His interviews are always interesting. And it’s fun to see where the mixtape will go.

No matter what genre of music you like there is an episode for you.

This show is a ton of fun and brings back the memories of making mixtapes back in the day

Rush Deep Cuts: Uncovering 15 Hidden Gems to Celebrate The Band's Fifty Something Tour
Q: What's track one on your playlist?
Brian explains he's selecting tracks in reverse chronological order, starting with a 2012 song and moving backward to older material, to illustrate the evolution of Rush's deep cuts.
Kenny Wayne Shepherd: 30 Years of Ledbetter Heights and the Road He’s Traveled
Q: How did the 30th anniversary recordings balance the original sound with new interpretations, especially with a different singer and lineup?
We aimed to recreate the energy of the original while letting Noah Hunt's voice and the current band dynamics inform new textures, carefully adjusting elements like kick patterns and avoiding overplaying in the studio to preserve the essence of the songs.
Kenny Wayne Shepherd: 30 Years of Ledbetter Heights and the Road He’s Traveled
Q: Looking back, what did these songs reveal about who you were at this stage of your life as a songwriter and musician?
They showed a lot of first-time experiences, with me being 17 when I recorded the record, writing for a real album, and navigating the process largely on instinct and personal inspiration without external direction.
