  • Should be rated explicit

I can’t listen with my kids in the car. Show has gotten more and more vulgar. That might be what some listeners like but it’s not for me. Update: when other listens shared the same concern, they were made fun of. Also, there are a lot of fake reviews propping up this rating. Find a different show.

  • Review

Quite a bit of nonsense and musky shop product promotion but can be informative and good for a laugh. Herbeck is a particularly good guest on here. I feel bad for Jay sometimes, ha ha. Steve is a good podcast host.

  • Very Informative

Love the show fellas. Long time bass fisherman who’s decided to chase muskies as of June this year. Listening to your masterclasses has opened my eyes. Both structure masterclasses have hands down been the most informative/instructional podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Thank you

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

330: Crushing Spring Cold Fronts
Q: Brandon, when should I use a jointed crankbait versus a straight crankbait in the summer when fishing shallow weeds or rocks?
Jointed crankbaits offer more visual wobble at slower speeds and can be better when fish are active or when you need more erratic action; straight crankbaits provide quicker depth and simpler timing and are often the default unless you're targeting a specific, more cooperative bite pattern. In practice, try both to see which the fish respond to on a given day, but prioritize straight cranks when depth control and faster coverage are needed.
325: Early Season Tactics with Steve Herbeck
Q: Gabe asks for tips on throwing small leavers that are suspending and how to adjust leaders.
Use a larger hook on slow-suspending baits or switch to a solid wire leader; for slows suspending baits prefer a short shank and consider AFW tooth-proof leaders to tailor the setup bait-by-bait, with extra-long leaders trimmed down to fit.
321: New Musky Lures and User Q+A
Q: Any tips for what to do when you have followers but they don't commit?
Consider your figure eight technique and ensure you're creating moments of engagement with your bait.
321: New Musky Lures and User Q+A
Q: What sonar system would be best for Musky fishing between Mega 360 or Mega Live?
The live imaging system may be more beneficial, especially for future developments in fishing technology.
319: Muskies and Future Tech User Q+A
Q: What can you tell me about that?
When modding baits, consider why you're doing it and how it affects their functionality.
