  • Should be rated explicit

I can’t listen with my kids in the car. Show has gotten more and more vulgar. That might be what some listeners like but it’s not for me. Update: when other listens shared the same concern, they were made fun of. Also, there are a lot of fake reviews propping up this rating. Find a different show.

Quite a bit of nonsense and musky shop product promotion but can be informative and good for a laugh. Herbeck is a particularly good guest on here. I feel bad for Jay sometimes, ha ha. Steve is a good podcast host.

  • Very Informative

Love the show fellas. Long time bass fisherman who’s decided to chase muskies as of June this year. Listening to your masterclasses has opened my eyes. Both structure masterclasses have hands down been the most informative/instructional podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Thank you

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

300: Euro Trip 2026: Big Pike
Q: Will Muskys eat anything and everything?
Yes and no. It depends on the location and the available food source. Muskies tend to target what's most exploitable at any given time, based on their environment.
300: Euro Trip 2026: Big Pike
Q: Is there a depth that's too deep to be fishing for muskies, or will muskies be anywhere that their bait is?
There is a line of oxygenation and temperature lines that muskies adhere to. They are generally not targeted deeper than 25 or 30 feet using traditional tackle. While muskies can be found deeper, they're often not feeding.
299: Coolin' Down and Heatin' Up Muskies for Fall
Q: Can you talk about lure or lure style combinations for the front of the boat, back of the boat?
Put the guy with top water in the back and the guy with blades in the front or use shock and awe bait in the front, followed by a small glide bait to maximize chances of catching fish.
299: Coolin' Down and Heatin' Up Muskies for Fall
Q: Does the moon cycle and weather conditions actually affect Musky fishing?
The moon and weather do affect Musky activity levels, but hard scientific evidence is lacking, and my experience suggests that weather patterns significantly influence activity.
299: Coolin' Down and Heatin' Up Muskies for Fall
Q: Is there any special tricks that you have up your sleeve for fighting a fishing current to make it easier?
When I hook up to a fish in current, if I am using spot lock, my first move is to turn off spot lock.
