I wasn’t sure how engaged I would remain since I wasn’t initially that interested in the nascent indie/americana overlap (which is not exclusively what’s covered here but is certainly a focus) but I am a lyrics person and have become increasingly convinced that something is indeed happening here.

The interviews are good hangs. I’ve come to be fa... more

  • a very good pod

Listening to this will make you feel good and it will inspire you to dive into creative endeavors alone and in community with other people. This pod makes me feel like I have more friends than I actually do. It’s also a nice pod to listen to with an animal bc they will understand when Dylan talks to their kind.

Buck Meek

Buck explains that the projects are intertwined and that collaborating with legends informs his process, making room for intuitive creation and a sense of shared genesis rather than rigid control.
Dry Cleaning (Florence Shaw)

Florence describes a home-based, domestic rhythm with a recent January record release and an intense touring schedule starting in April, balancing press, preparation, and the comfort of home.
Ryan Davis
Q: How do you balance the creative work of writing with the demands of being a musician?
It's the hardest for me; I procrastinate a lot. But when it's working, it's the most rewarding feeling to complete a song.
Ryan Davis
Q: What have you learned about music from running a label?
It's been a slow education; you come up with your systems, and every now and then I would put out a record that did unexpectedly well, which would require me to hustle harder.
Madi Diaz
Q: How do you silence doubt enough to make creative decisions?
I challenge myself to see that my current work is the most honest representation of me in this moment, which helps silence doubt.
