  • Are you a victim?

If you are, npr will bend head over heels to share your story, never willing to examine the other side of such stories, narratives. It makes for easy reporting, news gathering, but leaves us all less informed at the end of the day

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Move your body: Finding routines that work for you
Q: What makes it hard for people to stay consistent with movement, even when they know it's beneficial?
Perceived time constraints, competing priorities, and expectations about what counts as 'real' exercise can derail consistency; reframing activity as doable through small, frequent actions and flexible scheduling helps.
Grooming and child abuse: 6 questions, answered
Q: Why are schools and communities focusing on this now?
There is growing recognition of cases like Hannah LaPresto's and Abdul Wright's, which show how trust, power, and systemic gaps enable abuse, prompting legislative and policy responses.
Grooming and child abuse: 6 questions, answered
Q: What is grooming and why is it important to discuss now?
Grooming is a pattern of manipulative behaviors used to gain a child's trust for future sexual abuse, and it's vital to discuss now to implement preventative protections in schools and sports.
Turkeys, coyotes and other city critters
Q: Can turkeys be aggressive? Should we be worried about them?
They can be aggressive, but most of the time the drivers of agression are human actions like feeding wildlife; giving wildlife food or trying to habituate them increases encounters, so the guidance is to avoid feeding and to keep a respectful distance while enjoying them.
How philanthropy can shape a community
Q: What drives Bush Foundation's decision-making when distributing money?
Open, group-driven decisions with a focus on equity and long-term impact, coupled with a willingness to test ideas and provide feedback to applicants, rather than unilateral, top-down choices.
