I admire what Steph is doing with Motherland, however, I wish she would get better at listening and conversing in her interview style - it’s very frustrating to hear her ask questions that have just been answered through conversations. Also, please share some inspiring and happy stories. I’m a rural mum but it’s not all trauma and disaster out here - please share some happy stories.

295: Courtney Moir on Winning Muster Dogs and the Hobby That Became Her Lifeline
Q: What drew you to Muster Dogs and how did your journey with the dogs begin?
I started watching the show in 2021 as a way to find something for myself beyond motherhood. I messaged a contact who connected me with a farmer who sold me my first border collie, and the community around training dogs grew into a lifeline that helped me cope with anxiety and build a new sense of purpose.

Q: Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about where you're based and what you do?
I'm Courtney Moir, originally from WA's Great Southern, now living on a sixth-generation sheep property in Albany where my family and I farm meat and fiber, and I'm a mum of two who started working with dogs as a personal lifeline before Muster Dogs brought it into the national spotlight.
296: Ellen Fitzgerald on Unimaginable Loss, Motherhood & the Rural Childcare Crisis
Q: What has your motherhood journey looked like, especially in the context of loss and resilience?
Ellen describes losing her mother at 21, four miscarriages in quick succession, and the heartbreak of Adelaide's loss after a pregnancy diagnosed with Edward syndrome, followed by a challenging but ultimately joyful path to building a family with three children.

Q: Introduce yourself and tell us where you're based.
Ellen shares that she is based around Merida, a cattle property northwest of Longreach, Queensland, living with her husband Mick and their three children, Vivian, Pippi, and Henry, with Vivian in distance education.
294: Rachel Bjelke-Petersen on Following Her Gut & the Pothole That Changed Everything
Q: So Rach, introduce yourself to everyone. Tell us a bit about yourself, where you're based, your little family, what it is you do.
Rachel shares that she lives in the South Burnett on Bethany, a fourth-generation farming property, with her husband Christian and their baby JJ. She has explored careers from airlines to radio and teaching, but ultimately followed her heart back to farming and community life, transforming an old aeroplane hangar into The Old Hangar, a venue that connects people and supports the local community.
