  • Deeply Disappointing Content

This last episode with Stoga was my tipping point. The lack of critical interviewing makes this feel like a propaganda podcast for US Imperialism. The nuance in the topics aren’t discussed and points are chellenged.

It’s great to know important topics being discussed geopolitically but it does a poor job of actually tackling problems in a genuine way.

  • Magnanimous?

There is nothing magnanimous about Donald Trump-past, present and future. Also, Trump’s election was no mandate. 3.5% nationally. 8 million Democrats who voted 2020 did not vote in 2024. That’s the actual difference.

  • Great Guest

Trump won the Electoral College and popular vote in a big league manner. Host thought Harris would win which shows she is not in tune with political realities. Her guest accurately identified Trump winning.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

U.S.-Mexico Tensions in the Era of the Don-Roe Doctrine
Q: How do you read President Trump's attitude towards Mexico so far?
His approach seems to be driven largely by personal mood and not by any coherent policy agenda.
U.S.-Mexico Tensions in the Era of the Don-Roe Doctrine
Q: What do you see as the better joint strategy if the U.S. and Mexico truly wanted to curb cartel power?
They would need a long-term strategy that potentially includes harm reduction for drug use in the U.S.
U.S.-Mexico Tensions in the Era of the Don-Roe Doctrine
Q: Would this be sort of the trigger that could really cause something like that?
It's not clear that a unilateral action by the U.S. would be feasible or endorsed by the Mexican government.
U.S.-Mexico Tensions in the Era of the Don-Roe Doctrine
Q: What do you think was the substance in that statement?
It is difficult to measure cartel control in Mexico accurately, and hyperbolic statements about government control by cartels are largely inaccurate.
Until You Run Out of Other People’s Money
Q: What do you think will be the biggest risk for the United States in the region?
I think, you know, using force has consequences everywhere. It can lead to good outcomes in certain occasions, but also it can lead to things that we never expected.
